How We Create Our Guides

Exactly how a PALVILLA buying guide is made, from choosing the question to the day we update it. No mystery, no invented testing.

1. We start with a real buying question

Every guide answers a question people actually ask before they spend money: which touchless faucet is worth it, what size rug a room needs, whether teak outlasts aluminum. We choose topics where careful research can save a reader time, money or regret.

2. We gather the evidence

  • Manufacturer documents first: specification sheets, installation manuals, warranty terms and support pages from the brand itself.
  • Retailer listings for availability, model numbers and typical price range (shown as price tiers, never as a live price).
  • Owner evidence at scale: we read across verified owner reviews for patterns that repeat over months of use, and we report patterns, not single stories.
  • Codes and standards where they matter, such as plumbing flow-rate limits or electrical requirements.

3. We compare like with like

Products are judged on the same criteria, weighted toward ownership: durability, maintenance, warranty and how a product fits a real home. Design matters, but it never outranks evidence.

4. Research and drafting, with AI assistance

We use AI tools to help collect sources, organize specifications and prepare first drafts. They make our research faster and more thorough; they do not decide what we recommend. Every figure on a published page is checked against its source, unsupported claims are removed, and anything we could not verify is labelled as such.

5. What we will never do

  • Claim to have tested a product we have not used. Our guides are labelled Research-Based Evaluation.
  • Invent ratings, awards, testimonials or expert credentials.
  • Let a commission change a ranking. We earn from some links, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure, and we list real drawbacks for every pick.
  • Reuse or alter retailer or brand product photos without permission. Scene photography is licensed and credited.

6. We keep guides current

Each guide shows its last-reviewed date. We revisit guides as products change, typically every few months, and log material corrections on our Corrections page.
